The Tamkin Foundation of Santa Monica has provided a $50,000.00 grant to the prestigious Salk Institute to support neuroscience research.

The Salk Institute was established in 1960 by legendary medical researcher Jonas Salk, developer of the Polio vaccine. The Institute, headquartered in La Jolla, CA near San Diego, has consistently produced globally top-rated research and innovation in health and life quality.

The grant is in loving memory of Dr. S. Jerome and Judith D. Tamkin, former officers and directors of the Tamkin Foundation. This grant is particularly significant for the Tamkin family; Judith previously served on the Salk Institute’s Board of Trustees, and Dr. Tamkin battled Parkinson’s Disease in the final stages of his life.
